Dating, Drama, and Dominic Fike

Euphoria, HBO Max’s hottest drama series based on the Israeli miniseries with the same name, has been taking the world by storm. Starring Zendaya as main character and narrator, the show follows teen drug-addict Rue and a group of fellow teenagers in her town as they each navigate complex and eventful lives of trauma, abuse, love and heartbreak.
The show, first aired in June of 2019, has already racked up nine nominations and three Emmy awards for just the first season, two being for: “Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics” and “Outstanding Lead Actress in A Drama Series” for Zendaya’s role as Rue.
Zendaya isn’t the only Euphoria star people have been talking about. With the second and latest season of Euphoria recently coming to a close, one name has caught the attention of millions of viewers worldwide. Dominic Fike, the alternative indie singer-songwriter recently turned actor with his breakout role as Elliot in the series, is all anyone’s been thinking about lately. Amidst talk of a new album, Instagram confirmed dating rumors, and a comedic response to the backlash he received for his 3 minute and 28 second long song in the Euphoria season 2 finale, Dominic Fike has made his way into all everyone’s hearts, and he’s just getting started.
Through his role as Elliot on Euphoria, Fike has quickly grown in popularity among the masses and attracted a lot more attention to his work as a musical artist. One of the first suggestions of Fike’s discography on Spotify is his 14-song-long, 2020 studio album “What Could Possibly Go Wrong,” which The Guardian considered a summer soundtrack for the 24-year-old’s Gen Z fanbase. In an interview with Variety, Fike, now 26, shared that his new music will be less “overproduced” than his last album, and more focused on what he enjoys and thinks sounds good, no longer considering how it will be perceived by others and letting it get in the way of making what he wants.
But for now, fans will just have to enjoy “Elliot’s Song” featuring Zendaya, Fike’s newest single taken straight from the hit drama series. At a reasonable two and a half minutes long, the song is the shortened version of Elliot’s passionate and admittedly drawn out ballad to Rue. The song was released on March 4, 2022 in playful response to memes about its length, which some fans considered to be unnecessary, taking away from precious screen time. Fike, however, took it all in jest and shared on his Instagram the Monday before its release: “The internet remains undefeated. I am humbled.”

Still, fans have recently been paying close attention to Fike’s Instagram for another reason. Co-star Hunter Schafer, playing the role of main character Jules alongside Rue in Euphoria, was spotted holding hands with Fike on Jan. 16 exiting the Nice Guy restaurant together in West Hollywood. Since then, they were spotted once more at Hollywood hotspot Craig’s before Fike made their relationship Instagram official on Feb. 10 with a picture of the two kissing while enjoying dessert during a date night out. Their relationship is still going strong as proven by a picture uploaded to Schafer’s Instagram story on Tuesday of Fike at a restaurant holding up a plate of sweet treats. As expected, fans are ecstatic about the relationship and hope for only the best for the two. One wrote, “Am I screaming ??? ‘YES’ Dominic Fike & Hunter Schafer deserve all the love in this world.”
With an exciting new relationship, new music on the way, and a newfound career in acting, Dominic Fike is quite the hot topic, and it won’t be long for fans to see more of him in action. Fike confirmed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that he will “absolutely” be back for the upcoming third season of the HBO hit series, and fans can’t wait.
