The Legacy Arts Ensemble is at Home in Harlem

In the heart of Harlem, young, spiritual artists of African descent spread the truth hidden in their history through the Legacy Arts Ensemble (LAE). Practicing for eight hours a week, the young students are taught by teaching artists who also happen to be the founders of the program. Those co-founders/directors are Traci Jai and Khary Kamau who share how they created the group, its purpose and the lasting legacy they have one their students.

The Bennet’s Astra Rincon went to the LAE to find all of these things out and ran into former FSSA student, Isaiah Powell.
