FSSA Showcases 100th Year Sinatra Celebration

5ftx10ft Sinatra 100 Poster

In honor of what would have been Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday, this year’s Holiday concert and art show will be transformed into a celebration of our school’s namesake. The 100th Anniversary Sinatra Tribute will take place on Thurs. December 17 and Friday December 18. The show is open to the public. All of the school’s art studios will be dedicating this year’s show to the celebration of the life of Frank Sinatra. From art inspired Sinatra pieces to musical interpretations of his work, this

year’s concerts will be filled with his spirit.

The performance will include many collaborations with live music, dance and vocals. There will also be special monologues from the drama department that provide a narrative arc for the evening. Before the concert at 7:30pm the atrium will be filled with beautiful artwork for the annual winter art showcase. The string orchestra will also be playing Sinatra music in the atrium from 6pm-7pm, and accompanying the strings will be a film project on two screens inspired by the music of Frank Sinatra.

“All of the studios worked closely together and collaborated on this production under the direction of Andre Vazquez,” Gideon Frankel, Assistant Principal of Administration said. “Andre has been working since the summer to put together the show and is the creative brainchild behind how all of the performances fit together and how the dramatic monologues help to do this. I am really proud of all of the studio teachers and students for their collaborations and hard work.”
