Frank Sinatra School of the Arts’ vocal students had a once in a lifetime opportunity to sing with Tony Bennett during Game 5 of the World Series between The NY Mets and the Kansas City Royals at Citi Field on Sunday, November 1.

FSSA students were center field with the Grammy-Award winning singer who along with his wife opened Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in his birthplace, Astoria, Queens. The group, lead by FSSA vocal teacher Ms. Best performed their rendition of “America the Beautiful.”

“Singing in front of thousands of people seemed like it would be nerve-wracking, but in all honesty the build up and excitement I got when stepping onto the field made it easy for me to be myself and do what I love – perform,” Anthony Rana, senior vocalist, said.

Although the Mets experienced a heart-breaking loss to the lose the series, Sinatra students were poised and professional as they took the world class stage.
